Ronald Edward Hickson was born on April 13th 1918 at the Sister Puche Private Hospital in Havelock Street Bendigo, Victoria. He grew up in the family home, Hillsyde at Muskerry East and attended Muskerry East Primary School. While he was serving in the Australian Army in Adelaide he met Alma Lukander and they were married on February 16th 1946 at Exeter Methodist Church. They had 4 children, Kaye Christine born February 8th 1951, Roger James born September 3rd 1954, Carol Ann was born on April 7th 1958 and Bryan Ronald born September 11th 1960.
